How to write!

Happy Friday y’all,

It’s raining here today.

Yesterday, we got a notification from the weather app saying our area would be hit by isolated thunderstorms and heavy rainfall within the 20 - 40 mm range.

The #RetiredNigerian in me went like this:

What’s that?

Coming from an area where the average rainfall hits highs of 300mm accompanied by tropical thunderstorms, this is child’s play.

Still got drenched dropping my little man off at the school bus.

Iconic Rules on Writing

Today, I want to share one of the most iconic marketing memos shared by David Ogilvy.

Ten simple rules on writing well!

To paraphrase David Ogilvy with a twist, “Learning how to write well is a shortcut to clearer thinking”

Here goes…

Don’t know who David Ogilvy is?

David Mackenzie Ogilvy CBE was a British advertising tycoon, founder of Ogilvy & Mather, and known as the "Father of Advertising" and the “Original Mad Man”

His book, “Ogilvy on Advertising” is an essential read for any beginner marketer.

Have you signed up for Not Enough Writers?

Well, here’s the link again!

What are we trying to build?

A safe space for African/POC writers to network and connect without judgment.

Like that room where you can say things that writers get and others may not.

Or that platform where you know you can find your next industry mentor or mentee and have conversations that won't be awkward.

And please share the link with your writer/content marketing friends.

I'm excited! 💃🏽🕺🏿🕺🏿💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽

Looking forward to connecting on there.

What I’m thinking about?

Being around people with good vibes is another source of energy and motivation. Find them; cherish them!

Thanks for reading this far. I am grateful!
