The five key elements of a winning content formula

Hey friends,

That’s how I literally feel at the end of this week.

I lost my phone to a thief, it then took me four days to get my SIM back.

Whewwww

This week I learnt - The five key elements of a winning content formula

Every winning piece of content has five key elements.

Your approach to these elements will determine the success of your content. These five elements are like variables you adjust depending on your audience at each point in time and your goal for the content.

The five elements of the Content formula are:

#1: Topic

The subject matter of the post. Are you writing about a customer’s pain, trends in the industry, or company news?

#2: Headline

According to WordPress stats, over 70 million blog posts are published every month. Getting your headline right is critical to engagement and effectiveness.

#3:Format

Your post can take on different formats - case studies, listicles, infographics or the everyday ultimate guides.

#4:Length

Your content can vary in length. You could explore in-depth deep dives of over 3,000 words or short micro-articles of 300 - 500 words. Your content length should depend on the goal of the piece.

#5: Customer motivation

Finally, what customer motivation are you aiming to satisfy? At every point in time, your prospects are either looking for ideas, help or how to get stuff done.

You should try adjusting for these five elements next time you are writing a piece of content.

M‍y biggest takeaway this week 🚀

What is a sign of intelligence that most people confuse as a sign of stupidity?

"Saying 'I don’t understand, can you explain that to me again.'"

What I’m thinking about?

Standing out is fun, but short-lived. Focus on your craft, your own journey, and enjoy the ride.

Thanks for reading this far. I am grateful!

Stay safe & sane,

Dozie
