Developing your channel strategy
Hey hey,
How’s your week been?
Today, I am on time.
The weather here has been swinging between 2°C and - 21°C.
But guess what, I now break a sweat at anything less than 0°C 🤷🏾
Don’t ask me how!
Let’s talk platform/channel strategy
Two weeks ago, I had promised to talk about developing a channel strategy. But Google’s new update took precedence.
Apologies.
Let’s get that done today.
If you manage social accounts for a brand, your platform strategy is important.
Why? ….Because every platform is different.
If your brand lives on different channels across social, the brand personality and message should be consistent across those channels. But adopting a copy-and-paste approach to channel strategy would be disastrous.
Pro-tip: In today’s world where the competition across devices, formats, and platforms is fierce, building clusters of complementary channels is fundamental to achieving brand awareness.
So, what questions would I need to answer to write a useful channel strategy:
What are my brand or business goals?
Who’s the target audience for my product or service?
What platforms do they frequently spend time on?
Finally, how do they use those platforms?
Answering these questions ensures that whatever strategy you come up with is bang on channel-content fit, and channel-customer fit.
Something else to add, unless you are a Nike, Budweiser, or one of those massive brand houses with a large marketing budget, pick 2 – 3 channels and focus.
Time to execute my friend 😀
I think you’ll love this ❤️
I came across this amazing Chrome extension yesterday - Swpely
They do have a waitlist but it seems you can get in pretty fast - I only had to wait a few hours.
If you have trouble keeping great content organized and keeping track of all those links, videos, memes, LinkedIn posts, and podcasts you bookmark, then get on the waitlist.

All the best folks. And please share with any of your friends/colleagues who might find this useful 🙏🏾
My biggest takeaway this week 🚀
Your environment influences your decisions. Just as it’s hard to eat healthy if your kitchen is full of junk food, it’s hard to make good decisions when you’re too busy to think.
What I’m thinking about?
Money isn’t important.
The system that makes money is.
Thanks for reading this far. I am grateful!
Stay safe & sane,
