Content Marketing Weekly Digest Ep. 28
A weekly roundup of what the smartest content marketers are consuming, and what they're creating
Welcome to the 28th issue of Content Marketing Weekly Digest, a weekly newsletter by me, Dozie Anyaegbunam, focusing on curating some of the best content marketing articles. I'm glad you're here.
Hey everyone,
Sincere apologies for being super late today.
The grandparents have gone. And boy, have we forgotten all the work we needed to put in to get stuff done on time at home.
Google is done rolling out the “Helpful Content” update. They also launched a core update last week. And SEO folks have been seeing some crazy fluctuations with traffic, as high as 25% drops on some sites.
So, today will be all about how Google looks at expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness (E.A.T).
For today’s content brew, we’ll look at articles Google shared sometime last year about E.A.T.
What is E-A-T? Maria Haynes shares her hypothesis on how Google measures E-A-T, how to improve your website, and some success stories.
Google Updates Quality Rater Guidelines Targeting E-A-T, Page Quality & Interstitials. This is a good piece. The author, Jennifer Slegg, explains away all the complexity of Google Updates Quality Rater guidelines.
Google’s Core Algorithm Updates and The Power of User Studies: How Real Feedback From Real People Can Help Site Owners Surface Website Quality Problems (And More). The title of this blog says it all. Enjoy.
Why E-A-T & Core Updates Will Change Your Content Approach. Fajr Muhammad of IPullRank shares how E-A-T & Core Updates affect your content strategy and how to adapt your content strategy if a Core Update batters you.
Enjoy,
And have a great week.
Dozie
