The What, Where, When of Content Creation

Howdy folks,

Happy Friday!

It is COLD here 🥶

But I guess I’ll adjust in due time.

Got no choice, you know 😀

Today, let’s discuss the 3Ws of Content Creation

Depending on what you do or where you work, you are either creating content for your blog, social channels, email newsletter and more.

This also means your strategy for each platform is different.

(More on writing a platform/channel strategy next week)

However, no matter how well thought out your channel strategy is, its worthless if the content doesn’t work.

To increase the probability of creating content that aligns with your channel strategy, I often use the 3Ws framework to sense-check my content creation efforts.

The good thing is - It is quite simple.

Here goes:

What

  • What’s the purpose of your content (educate, inform)?

Where

  • What’s the best channel to share your content piece using your consumer as a guiding light?

When

  • What are the key moments in the consumer journey that you’ll post and engage?

Going through this process ensures your content is found, consumed, shared, and acted upon by your TA.

Now, go forth and be 👍

Weekend Long Read

When was the last time you went on Google to search for “the best marketing plan template?”

Well, this piece by Mark Ritson breaks down the art of writing a marketing plan really nicely. There’s more learning and advice in here than some entire online courses I’ve taken.

My biggest takeaway this week 🚀

Direction over speed.

Assets over responsibilities.

Outcome over ego.

Positioning over predicting.

Long-term over short-term.

You can't help but be successful ...

What I’m thinking about?

Days will go by without anything getting done if you don't know how to focus.

Thanks for reading this far. I am grateful!

Stay safe & sane,

Dozie
